Yes, most Death Eaters fear Voldemort but they're loyal to him 'cause they share the same ambition. As far as we know, Peter became a traitor to save his own skin. He fought the dark side with his friends after he left school. It was only later, when the dark side was clearly winning, that Peter switched sides. And I didn't say that Peter couldn't be a Gryffindor and be weak. I just stated that Peter WAS weak. And I admit that I misunderstood your meaning of 'spy' and you're right, he was a spy
May 19, 2012 mieroth Says:
There is more than one spy in the HP series. And Peter most certainly qualifies as one given that he was working for Voldemort whilst his friends didn't know about it. And you certainly have a black and white view of the world. Fear and loyalty aren't mutually exclusive terms. Lucius Malfoy also feared Voldemort but he was loyal to him. Contrary to popular belief you can still be a "weak character" and a Gryffindor.
May 18, 2012 AnnaSant0s Says:
What? Are we talking of the same character? SNAPE was the spy! Peter was NEVER a spy. Until the Potter's death nobody knew that he betrayed the Light side turning into a Death Eater. And he was never loyal to Voldemort, he feared him and just wanted his "protection"! He was a very weak character whose few Gryffindor qualities got lost when he left school and face reality.
May 18, 2012 mieroth Says:
Yes he did. Being a spy is incredibly brave. And he was loyal to Voldemort. Just because he didn't hold the same opinions you do doesn't mean he didn't fit perfectly into Gryffindor.
May 18, 2012 AnnaSant0s Says:
I think she meant the Peter didn't act like a true Gryffindor (brave, loyal, ...). In my opinion, the Hat put him there because he wasn´t trustfull (Hufflepuff), cunning (Slytherin) and did not desire more knowledge (Ravenclaw). So Gryffindor was all that was left. Besides, he was mischievous (and J.K's more mischievous characters were all in Gryffindor, like Marauders, Fred and George, ...)

Why? There are plenty of Death Eaters (and other villains) not from Slytherin. o.O

The editing in this is brilliant :). The only thing that seems a little out of place is the constant Slytherin theme; Quirrel was a Ravenclaw and Pettigrew a Gryffindor. I also think there's some speculation on some others such as Barty Crouch Jr possibly being a Ravenclaw too...
Either way though, this video is fantastic! :D

I think it was because he asked not to be put in Slytherin, like Harry. But unlike Harry, who would have done fine in any house, Pettigrew was too stupid to be Ravenclaw, and no where near loyal enough to be Hufflepuff.

In the movie he was hit with the killing curse. However in the book he was hit with a stunning spell, and then fell through the veil
Believe me, I have read that passage too many times, as I was a card carrying member of the "Sirius Still Lives club" until the end of Deathly Hallows..

This was great! I've always liked the bad guys in Harry Potter. Especially when Voldie was Tom Riddle (CoS version of movie) mmmm lol

Really? I didn't know that, where did you find that?

No, she hit him with the Killing Curse, and then he fell through the Veil. Bellatrix wouldn't resort to something as 'soft' as a Stun when her prey is right there.
Just letting you know, is all. C:

He was put in there because he had courage and he showed that courage in the end! He was simply mislead quite a bit athough I'm not saying that is an excuse for his actions but he did redeeem himself in the end
