Communism hasn't worked because people can't get over their desire to superior to one another. In a true communist society, everyone is on the same level economically and socially, all citizens DEMOCRATICALLY decide the course of the country. Communism hasn't been successful in any country to date because every example has had a "leader" who was more like a dictator than an administrator. And that leader has always lived in luxury while his people live in squalor.
