A scattered people, the descendants of storied sea kings of the ancient West, struggle to survive in a lonely wilderness as a dark force relentlessly bends its will toward their destruction. Yet amidst these valiant, desperate people, hope remains. A royal house endures unbroken from father to son.
This 70 minute original drama is set in the time before the War of the Ring and tells the story of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North, before the return of the King. Inspired by only a couple of paragraphs written by Tolkien in the appendices of the Lord of the Rings we follow Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, from their first meeting through a turbulent time in their people's history. That was truly an epic movie... and OK I am a LOTR fan, but that was such a good story!

I was really impressed with the writing, casting, direction, production values, and performances. Christopher Dane as Arathorn was an excellent choice. Using a couple of paragraphs from Tolkien and, I imagine, a very small budget, a fine film was made. Kudos to all involved!

To their credit, the production attempts to maintain continuity with Peter Jackson's trilogy and does so quite successfully. You probably would have complained if they hadn't maintained continuity. This is a fan movie, an homage! It would be odd for a fan movie to embark on a radical revisioning of the materiel!

You know, for a low budget shoot, this is really astounding work. I hope the editors and post guys and actors all got their asses kissed pink, 'cause they earned it.

I really enjoyed this movie! Although it's an indipendent movie it's really well directed and played and it's totally into the Tolkien's world! Loved it! Can't wait to watch The hunt for Gollum!!

Thank you from a die hard Lord of the Rings Great Fan. I thought that was very well done. And in joining with the whole story. I do always look for more that JR Tolkien has done but alas this was the first one I have seen other than the Hunt For Gollum. Thank you.
