I don;t think the idea was to use a common lighter, but to reflect how common materials can be used to make fire. Give the dude a break. he has just showed you how to use a bow from a close hanger, nylon string and junk crap home stuff from Ikea to save your bacon one day. Lighters are not the save all and malfunction or stop working all day long. What will U do when the old trusty Bic stops working? Call Survivor man?
