That was hideous. Seriously, who wears a blue shirt with brown pants? The cat was good, but I wasn't really feeling the dog. Gotta say the floppy wrist action was an interesting performance choice,. Not a bad choice, just,....interesting.

Yeah, they look so cute and fluffy when they're young, but when they grow up they take a LOT of looking after. No one's ever managed to house train one either.

@charesmagnuelle, @charesmagnuelle, I either didn't know I had a shadow catcher or the version of Carrara 5 I used didn't have it. I tried to fake a shadow with a Photoshop layer that I keyframed and resized over time in Final Cut Pro.

I used Carrara 5 to render the dinosaur. I didn't have the pluggin to allow me to bring in the dino with it's rigging, so I rigged it myself and hand animated a walk cycle and other aspects. I rendered the dino with an alpha channel background and composited in Apple's Final Cut Pro. I used image masks for the garage so that it looked like it was behind it, and a photoshop layer to fake a shadow. Music and sound f/x were done in Soundtrack. Model of dino by DAZ 3D. Hope this helps! ;)

Thanks for the feedback! I "composed" it myself in Soundtrack. I wanted it to be reminiscent of the old Ray Harryhausen flicks.

No, it didn't. But if you use the MP4 export settings in Quicktime, or use a program like MPEG Streamclip you can avoid the effect altogether.

I actually saved it as a .mov from my iPod version. I don't think it really squashed it that badly.
