We don't have capitalism, try to open a lemonade stand, or try to run a business braiding hair. That's right, you can't do either without express written consent of the government. THIS IS NOT CAPITALISM.

voogru Says:
I agree. Governments can easily legislate prosperity, all they have to do is set the min. wage to $30/hr, and then make all importation of goods illegal so that nobody can outsource jobs. Luckily, prices won't skyrocket even with exploding labor costs. Also, I heard that the government can also declare gravity to be illegal. Might be worth looking into.

Here's a good idea: Use government-enforced regulations. 1) minimum wage 2) rental control 3) public education standards 5) public health standards. -- Real simple plan. Money talks. You go over the speed limit, you get fined. ;)

I think it would work if humanity could just get its shit together, but yeah, I'm not expecting it to happen any time soon. Pretty sad though.

I have heard of the Venus Project, really interesting stuff. Can't say I think it's very realistic unfortunately, the elimination of scarcity and currency.

Nomiss9 Says:
Look up the Venus Project. Seems pretty intelligent to me. Not saying I'm sure it could be implemented though, because people are so self-centered and illogical.

What does an intelligent world economic system look like to you?
May 27, 2012
Nomiss9 Says:
You're so stuck in your capitalist way of thinking, just like most people on this page. "Well, he found a way to legally get 1000 times more than the average worker in this system, therefore he deserves it herp derp!" I think the system is fucked up, and I don't care how many people work for his company. In an intelligent world/system, he wouldn't be able to take that much resources out of the system. About his charity, he also has way more money than he deserves (IMO), so I couldn't care less.

abusivemomba Says:
But has he actually put in more time and sweat? You underestimate the role of the entrepreneurs and the job creators. Bill Gates employs about 57,000 people in the United States, that is no small feat. He has provided products that you are probably utilizing right now, and still he gives more money to charities than your average Joe. He makes astronomical amounts of money, and I wish I did too, but you can't say that he doesn't deserve the right to decide his own salary from a company he runs.

• The followers of Satan, brainwashed with the promises of power and glory by each other, are plotting now to inflict a range of events around the world which will cause untold grief, pain and horror everywhere. Those children, who have been shown the truth and guided by Me are trying desperately to warn the world of these terrible groups, splintered in all directions. Littered in every country, present in every level of authority they plot in secret. Jesus Thewarningsecondcomingcom

Reagans bio-warfare on Cubans crops,CIA attempts to assassinate Castro multiple times.Central Americans paid by Cuban in Miami to bomb hotels in Havana, bloggers in Cuba paid by Germany to spread faux-info.Do you honestly believe that if all this happened to your country, the Feds would censor even more? You have to understand why Cuba is stubborn w/ free-press.Castro didn't just wake-up one day and decide to impose censorship.Just think if China, Iran, Venezuela, etc, carried this out in the US
May 25, 2012
Eliu5564 Says:
Oh, so now it does not guarantee human rights? Cuba has less than a 100, & most of these are plane hijackers and foreign paid agents. Like Armando Valladares, who falsely claimed that he was paralyzed and was paid by USAID/Cuban groups in Miami. 3,500 Cubans/Tourists in Cuba have died due to the US, Orlando Bosch, who shot down flight 445, and was granted asylum by Bush, the Cuban Adjustment Act, which has tempted Cubans to cross the ocean, and die in most cases, because they're promised visas

superturtleism Says:
Capitalism is an economic framework for a country it does not guarantee human rights. When I talk about capitalism I assume we are talking about a constitutional democracy or republic that has guaranteed individual freedoms(free speech, ect). Cuba does not have freedom of the press and their prisions are full of political prisioners. Their nation started with the firing squads with no trails so stop the BS. The police don't really care about OWS protesters until they start acting violently.

Again, with the Greece and Spain! Research, man, they were run by right-wing and ultra-right wing leaders. Ireland is now manned mostly by Socialist and their country is resurrecting. Please, Google is a bliss.

Why don't I hear that from China? People try to commit suicide so much so, that they've installed nets to catch the jumpers outside the factories. Growth? You guys have lost MILLIONS of jobs, thousands die each yr due to lack of healthcare, suffer hunger, your middle-class is eroding, but, fortunately, ofc, the rich are getting richer --- perhaps its all those taxes they pay? You guys don't even have the funds to reach the Moon, anymore. The RUSSIANS/CHINESE are up there now!

USDA: "50 million people - including almost one child in four -- struggled last yr to get enough to eat."You're a fanatic.Yeah, the USSR is illogical, that's why a Soviet era tanker went to Alaska to dismantle the ice. That's why 8/10 German soldiers died at the hands of the Soviets, that's why the Soviets took down Germany's capitol. That's why the U.S. spent trillions & is now bankrupt trying to defeat the USSR, using its imperialist aptitude/exhortion so your allies could saction USSR.

Eliu5564 Says:
Crucified Christ, I see, it stems from your Nationalistic fanaticism. Yeah, which is why your country passed the NDAA? Patriot Act? LOL, then why is your country ranked in the lowest in terms of higher education, literacy rate, life expectancy, isn't part of world court, withdrew from Kyoto Protocol. How does Capitalism work for the children in Sri Lanka? For the minners in Peru whose lives are shortened?

As far a the US being dead what plantet are you on. We are still the strongest economic and military power on earth. The debt is the fault of liberals & Repub. with good intentions run wild. Some think that gov has the answer for every problem and that if that problem hasn't been solved by gov it must need more money. We will solve the debt problem because there is a political uprising happening right now and it is coming from the part of America that knows what made America great.

No the US would not curtail rights of speech and press just because some nutjob in Iran spent money trying to mess with us. As far as your father goes I agree that the US should not have gotten involved in third world nations that were no threat to us. If they wanted to dabble in a faulty system they should be left to fail on their own and learn their own hard lessons. I even agree that Cuba should be opened up to business. Socialist tyrannts will fall by their own weight.

superturtleism Says:
The USSR was EVIL barbaric system and it lost mainly because the system is not functional and goes against all reason and logic. Your side lost and you want to cry foul but yourside forgets that USSR wanted to beat the west and spent lots of money on it(Takes 2 to have a race). And do you ask yourself why the west had so much more money? Because our system worked better due to the capitalist activities of free people in a free land. You are a sore loser in the world of economic realities.

didn't stop Ford, IBM, BOSS, Coca Cola, etc., from investing there and funding the Third Reich. Go tell the allegedly "terrorists" in that concentration camp in Guantanamo about your glorious "freedoms", or Bradley Manning who exposed SOME of his government's atrocities. I'm sure it'll make things seem auspicious and hopeful. Or the Guatemalans who were experimented on by the U.S., or how thousands die due to your for-profit health-care system. I prefer security over your "freedom."

Eliu5564 Says:
If your iPhone is en route to a repair center, would you pay $1000 so it would get there faster? Same applies to the investment to abate Socialism. You sanctioned the USSR up its ass, you helped turn the Maoist against them, you encourage their population to migrate, and then you start an arms race. Give me trillions, and I'll find the cure for multiple forms of cancer. You can accomplish just about anything w/the sum of $, so don't say "because we thought it was EVIL." Hitler was evil, but that

Americans have sponsored Miami Cuban groups which have killed over 3,500 Cubans & tourists in Cuba, the U.S., the home of the "free", even though we sponsor extremist in Libya in Syria. My father was almost killed by a Reagan funded right-wing faction in El Salvador. Do you think the U.S. would not curtail rights/speech/press if Iran spent trillions to overthrow it using domestic forces? Think about it, man. The U.S. died the same day the USSR did, except they kept tossing $ at it;$16 trillions

Eliu5564 Says:
How about Capitalist nations with horrible track records? Iran, Afghan, Liberia, Guatemala, India. Oh, really? So nurses, history/English majors, engineers are "anarchists"? 'Cause I've seen many of them in the OWS. Why would Castro allow infinite freedom of the press when the Miafia launches terrorist attacks? When foreign nations pay agents to spread faux rumors. How many bills have been passed by Western nations to censor information?
